Overview

Canon City, Co. adopted the International Residential Code, 2018 edition. Canon City, Co. Muni. Code, § 15.04.010 (adopted) with amendments at § 15.04.030. including appendixies J,K, and M. 

Canon City deleted chapter 11 of the 2018 IRC, but determines energy code compliance based on 2018 IECC. Canon City also deleted chapters 12 through 42 of the 2018 IRC, and deleted Appendices A, B, C, D, E, F, I, L, N, O, P and Q.

Existing Buildings

Existing buildings, meaning buildings that were built in accordance to code at the time of construction, typically merit extra consideration in a current updated code.

Commercial Building Code

Canon City adopted the 2018 IBC, locally. Note that adoptions usually come with amendments. So, it is important to review those amendments in addition to the unamended model code.
